The course treats watercolor as an independent artistic medium — from academic foundations to a range of technical and stylistic approaches.

What You Will Learn

  • understand the foundations of colour theory
  • choose and use paper, brushes, and paints
  • work wet-on-wet and on damp paper
  • use dry-brush techniques
  • combine watercolor with tempera
  • work with still life, landscape, architecture, portrait, and figure

Programme

1. Academic foundations and colour theory

2. Materials: paper, brushes, paints

3. Techniques: wet, damp, dry brush, mixed techniques

4. Practice: still life, landscape, architecture, portrait, human figure

5. Stylistic approaches: decorative, formalist, abstract, and others

How You Learn

Practical assignments progress from foundational skills to more complex study or project tasks. This section will later be replaced with a course-specific description of the teaching method and format.

Outcome

Technical control of watercolor, stronger colour perception, and the ability to use the medium across different subjects and approaches.
