COMPOSITION EXAM PREPARATION
Preparation for composition entrance exams for design programmes.
Preparation Process
Stage 1 — Foundation
Preparation starts with the spatial and compositional skills required for the entrance examination. Students study how geometric forms are constructed, the basic laws of composition, combinations and intersections of volumes, and the principles of perspective. The work is deliberately elementary at first because these problems form the three-dimensional thinking needed before a complete exam composition can be built with control.
Stage 2 — Exam Preparation
The next stage moves into the principal examination tasks: creating three-dimensional compositions and spatial constructions. Work concentrates on clear treatment of volumes, accurate perspective construction and a convincing compositional solution in accordance with the official requirements. Students have to bring these elements together in one task and learn to judge the composition as a whole instead of solving volume, perspective and arrangement separately.
Stage 3 — Exam Simulation
The last stage uses mock examinations conducted in conditions as close as possible to the real entrance exam. Students complete the task within the official setting and duration, not only as an open-ended studio exercise. The finished work is then assessed according to the official criteria, so students can see how their decisions will be judged and where composition, perspective or time management still needs correction.
